Coaching, Consultancy & Mentoring

Alongside managing my artist and producer clients, over the past few years I’ve spoken on panels, delivered workshops and taken part in mentoring programmes. This experience inspired me to create dedicated space to offer a unique blend of consultancy, mentoring and coaching for artists, studio personnel, fellow managers and students.

These sessions are designed to help you gain clarity, build strategy and develop confidence in your next steps. Whether you need a soundboard for ideas, help setting goals or a structured plan to reach them, I’ll work with you to find practical, individual solutions.

For artists and studio personnel, these sessions can feel like having a manager on your team but without the traditional commission or long-term commitment. You get professional guidance and structured support while keeping your freedom and independence. The aim is to help you develop a sustainable framework, build the right team around you and make confident, informed decisions about your music and career direction. It’s about creating stability, longevity and genuine enjoyment in what you do.

For fellow managers, the sessions can act as an important sounding board. They provide space to reflect, talk through challenges and explore solutions to issues that come up when managing artists. We can focus on areas such as career development, roster strategy, confidence building and maintaining a healthy balance between work and wellbeing. It’s an opportunity for honest, practical conversation with someone who has faced similar experiences.

How it works

I offer a bespoke series of 6–12 sessions, each lasting around an hour via video call, priced at £100 per session.

Before starting, I like to have a short vibe check call: an informal chat to understand what you’re looking for and see if I can genuinely add value. If it feels like the right fit, we’ll schedule sessions that suit your goals and pace.

It helps if you can share a little about yourself or your project, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process. If this structure doesn’t fit your needs, we can explore a format that works better for you.

What I offer

I support with:

  • Strategy, planning and project development

  • Goal-setting and accountability

  • Defining roles, boundaries and team structures

  • Industry navigation and relevant connections

  • Distribution and release planning

  • Creative and career problem-solving

  • Feedback and validation for key decisions

The focus is on helping you build a sustainable, enjoyable career and avoid burnout. Together we’ll create systems and strategies that give you space to stay creative while building a long-term business around your artistry.

Background

I bring over 20 years of music industry experience across management, consultancy and education.

For the past 15 years I’ve run TAPE Music Company, based in London and Margate, building long-term relationships with artists and producers while adapting to the fast-changing music landscape.

I also spent 12 years as a director at Record-Play, a music consultancy with offices in London, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin, where I worked with brands and global companies on sync, product launches and digital activations.

During this time, I was country manager for Phonofile, a digital distribution company operating across Northern Europe, learning how businesses scale through technology.

My career began as a club and talent booker at venues such as 93 Feet East and Big Chill, which taught me the importance of community, collaboration and connection in music.

Mentorship & Education

In recent years, I’ve focused on mentorship and education, working with programmes such as She Said So, Pie Factory Music and Keychange, providing guidance over 6–12 month periods to artists and emerging professionals.

I’ve also guest-lectured on music business at universities and creative organisations, sharing insights on management, development and the realities of building sustainable careers with integrity and authenticity.

Approach

I believe the most effective managers and consultants share three traits: resilience, creativity and empathy. You have to take risks, learn from failure and keep showing up. It can take years for an artist to grow, so patience and belief are essential.

Integrity and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do. I always aim to lead with humility, openness and vulnerability, creating a safe space for honest conversations and meaningful growth.

Creative problem solving and clear communication are key. Being able to think differently, listen deeply and connect the dots between artists, partners and opportunities is what helps careers truly move forward.
