The Brute Chorus are teaming up with kirsty mcgee & the hobopop Collective to release a free to download double a single.

Wife / Alligator Teeth will be released on the bands respective websites on November 14th.

The friendship between the two groups goes back years. Kirsty's long time collaborator Mat Martin attended the same college as James and Nick of The Brute Chorus. He later provided banjo duties on the Brute's first single The Cuckoo & The Stolen Heart, showing up again for the live recording of their debut album in 2009. James in return moonlighted as part of the Manchester based Hobopop Collective playing electric guitar as part of a nebulous group of musicians that went on to record their live album No.5 released earlier this year.

For this release the two groups will cover each other's songs: Kirsty & THC have chosen Wife from the Brute's new album How The Caged Bird Sings and in return The Brute Chorus have chosen a hitherto unrecorded song Alligator Teeth.

Both recordings offer dramatic reinterpretations of the original versions and fans of both bands should find much to love in the Collective's sparse folk rock and the Brute's swamp stomp swagger.
